I wish I could’ve finished this book quicker, but now that i have read it I am happy I took my time with it because I was just not ready for it to be over. This book has been taking up a lot of space in my mind in the best way possible. I am unsure I will ever be able to read another book that gave me the same feelings as this one. This book was mesmerizing, inspiring and horrifying all in one. I ended up respecting everything from the character of Hugo to the many complex themes this book tackles. All in all I'm with Monique:
To this day, I wrestle with who Evelyn was and the impact she had on me. Some days I find myself convinced that I admire her more than anyone I’ve ever met, and others days I think of her as a liar and a cheat.

i still feel so overwhelmed. evelyn's life was so full of drama and fame, and still got to deal with such devastating events... this book is amazing. evelyn is amazing. i admire her for what she did through her whole life. very brave woman. that's all i have to say. read this book if you hadn't yet.
