[close] Survive the Dome is sort of The Hate U Give meets The Hunger Games. Jamal is a promising teen journalist who travels to Baltimore to capture photographs of a protest about police brutality. While there, the city is put under the Dome and protesters are targeted by the police and government officials.

They say it's for their own good, for their protection - but who are they really protecting? While under the Dome, no modern communication such as cell phones work. Yet, the police are wearing military grade armor and are able to record, track, and communicate via their suits.

In order to survive, Jamal befriends two strangers who navigate their way around the city in an attempt to shut down the Dome and get proof of the abuse inside.

Readers who enjoy dystopian books will like this one, but it's also very grounded in real and current events so the dystopian aspects feel very plausible. There is a resolution at the end, but it's also open enough to hint at a potential series.
