Little by little we learn she's run away from her past, but we don't get all the details of what that past entails.

As AnnieLee's songwriting and singing increases, she starts rising to fame, making it easier for the ones she left behind to find her. Danger looms!

Fans of Patterson will enjoy this book and fans of Dolly Parton will definitely see her influence. Some of the mystery might be fairly solvable for avid readers, but it's fast paced and makes for a quick read. I wish the ending had been a bit more drawn out and developed, but overall it was entertaining.

Those reading for book clubs or who like to go down rabbit holes of research will love that there's a companion album of the same title by Dolly Parton to go along with the book. We recommend the audiobook for this title as its read by a full cast, including Parton.
