I am a huge Stephen King fan - I remember reading Carrie in 1974 and was blown away. The Shining was a deliciously scary book and I stayed up most of the night reading it and the rest of the night trying to sleep with the lights on and my eyes open. After 35 years, a follow-up to "The Shining". A murderous group, the True Knot, look for gifted children, such as Dan Torrance used to be. An alcoholic for many years, he finds himself in New Hampshire working at a hospice, when he crosses tracks with a mysterious entity who leaves messages on a chalkboard in his room. Soon, Dan has his hands full with helping a young lady wage war against these psychic vampires. Great action, character development, and a nice plot twist. Stephen still has it!
