I own all of the Little House books, and adored Melissa Gilbert in the TV series. My favorite of all of Wilders' memoirs is Little House in the Big Woods, which is the first in the series and the "pre-quel" to Little House on the Prairie. The writing of Little House on the Prairie is descriptive and makes me feel as though I was travelling in the wagon with Laura and her family. The book tells the tale of the Ingalls family moving from Wisconsin to Minnesota in a horse drawn wagon. I give all pi ...more
