Self repression, link to story of the light & dark wolves, the cost of freedom/liberty, not living true life/self, repressing own desires, ‘goodness’ as polarity to ‘evil’, refusal to reconcile the two in self, believing its one or the other hmmmmm v good
Polly Clarke
At first, the style of language was slightly annoying, having not read Victorian flamboyance for a while but then after into the second chapter, I got into the rhythm and I loved it! Such a sad story. I loved the atmosphere created with the description of London. A classic for a very good reason.
