What Members Thought

Maybe the written version of this book would be different than listening to the audio version but I felt the writing was more of a montage of event after event instead of a story ... and then he did this and then he did this ... But the over all story was very compelling. It was enough for me to make it through the book but Seabiscuit is out of the question for me.

Great story, and beautifully painted picture of the will to endure of one exceptional serviceman. Love the last paragraph where Hillenbrand writes: "I wish to remember the Allied servicemen and POWs who lived the story of the Second World War. Many of these men never came home; many others returned bearing emotional and physical scars that would stay with them for the rest of their lives.
