Wow, a seriously amazing and powerful book about Survival, Resilience, Redemption, and ultimately, Peace. I have read quite a few nonfiction and historical fiction about WWII, but I haven't read much about what it was like to be in Japan at the time, except in a peripheral sense. I am a huge reader of WW II fiction and nonfiction, primarily the European theater. This biography about Louis Zamperini, a Pacific POW, is the first book pertaining to the Pacific theater I have read, and it is absolutely unforgettable.
