What Members Thought

This book was spot-on the movie in the beginning of the book. However, I didn't realize that the story continued on after Bastian gives the Empress a name. I was a little bored with the beginning up until there because it was so much like the movie that I had no surprises in store for me. As for the second part of the story, I was not as enchanted. I really wanted to love this book, but I didn't...The first half was pure nostalgia. The story was exciting, and I felt like I was visiting old friends (what with the movie being one of my favorites growing up.) But then I got to the part after the movie, for lack of a better way of expressing myself. I kind of hated Bastien. Like, a lot.
