Yet another monster who felt perfectly justified in killing people because he couldn't get a girl.

Seriously, males of the world, this needs to stop being a thing. If Frankenstein's monster had been female, she would have set up that cottage really nice for herself, and just got on with the business of surviving. But nooooo, this guy wanted to bring a female into the world just to meet his needs, not thinking for a second that maybe she wouldn't want to meet his needs, and without seeming to care

Frankenstein is nothing like what I expected. I like it, but it's not the story I thought I knew.

I spent the entire damn book being annoyed with Frankenstein. If the stupid shit had taken responsibility for his creation from the beginning, none of the death and suffering that followed would have happened. It was interesting as well to get to read Polidori's The Vampyre and the inclusion of Byron's Fragment demonstrated that I much preferred Shelley's writing style.

Now I need to go and watch some

2.5 stars.

Ugh. Classics are always hit or miss for me and this one was a hard miss. Sure, it's creative in terms of the monster creation, but the execution bored me to tears. Usually I enjoy an epistolary style novel, but not this one. The pacing was incredibly slow and the narration just did not do it for me. I could care less about the characters. I honestly would have DNF'd if this book was not a classic and even now I'm kind of kicking myself that I slogged through it. Life is too short.

Adorei as problemáticas humanas e sociais levan

A very sad, depressing read. I wonder what would have happened if Dr. Frankenstein had not run in horror from his creation at the beginning?

Creator vs. created. So exquisitely sad. Not for the feint of heart.
