You know you read a good book when the movie in your head starts and you get lost in the story. Sadly this never happened for me with this book. I forced myself through 5 chapters until I decided that the struggle was not worth it.
The story (that I had to reread on SparkNotes to fully understand) is really good and interesting but that narrator just killed me. The writing was so bland and boring. Not enjoyable at all.

Everyone thinks they know this story-probably from watching so many Hammer Horror/Billy Wilder films. The book is a very different thing all together. As Mary Shelley herself, describes it, it is a creation myth and explores the relationship between the creator (a man of imagination, impatience and a big dose of pride thrown in) and the created (a being of intelligence, initially sympathetic but of violent temper).
