I'll try to express my feelings about this book without sounding like too much of a literary snob. We'll see how well I do.
One of the most jarring things about this book is simply that it has a different frame of reference than what I'm used to. I wanted SO MUCH to like this, but I could just not get interested. This was the third time I've tried to read it and this time I actually got about 25% through. I found it dry and plodding, overly laden with the intricacies of the "financial journalism" stuff.
I realize I'm in a small minority of folks who didn't find this book great.

Loved this--so suspenseful I could barely put it down. It starts a little slowly in the first few chapters, but becomes a page turning thriller half way into it. Beware--the premise is very dark and disturbing and might not be the best read for those that like happy endings and a light read. Really dark and intriguing read, great plot and character development.
