I really enjoyed this book. I had a lot of people telling me they had heard bad things about it so I admit that I did feel a little nervous at first. But for me the story moved smoothly and the plot was excellent. There were some more graphic and violent scenes that probably turned off the readers who didn't like the book, but to me it didn't outweigh the good writing. It's hard to review a translated book and say that the writer is excellent, but I assume that the translator stayed true to form ...more

My head is still reeling. I've just finished reading a few minutes ago and I'd have to admit I struggled during the first parts of the book, after all it was about finances and trials. I was first introduced to Swedish mystery books through one of Henning Mankell's books, Faceless Killers. When I saw that The Girl in the Dragon Tattoo was also by a Swedish writer, I knew I had to read it someday, so it went onto my to-read shelf.

I really like this writing style. Although it does take me a lot longer to read, its very thought provoking. I was grateful that none of the disturbing rape scenes from the first book where anywhere in the second book. I love the main character, such a kick ass girl! Plenty of action and plot twists and I really liked the hold on to the edge of your seat ending. Need to finish this trilogy soon

I found the first 200 or pages hard to get into, but once the background was set, I really got into this story.

This novel was a mystery that was not easily solved as it was very dynamic and multi-dimensional.
