Took me a little to bit to get from 3 stars to 5 stars but boy when I got there did I ever. I love to come up with answers to the mystery along the way but this one kept me guessing right until I was about two thirds through and I then came up with what I thought was the ending. Well, proud to say that I was partly right. This did have a lot of twists and turns with some very weird characters, interesting characters all within a great story with a very twisted plot and end. I picked this up mainly due to the buzz surrounding this author. So this is my time reading any of her works. This one is more a nod to horror novels, true crime and women. And though I am not a horror fan, I was able to appreciate the other aspects especially the commentary on women and crime.

To start off, the cover totally took me in! It is my favorite cover of anything I've read in 2020! I listened to the audio version and while the narrators were excellent, I wonder if I would have enjoyed the book more if I'd read it instead. It did have some mystery and suspense, but not as much as I would have liked and I figured out most of it fairly early in the story.
