Creepy as shit. I kind of saw the ending but also didn't. People I trusted I shouldn't have and people I suspected were safe. This was a trip!! This would make a great Netflix film. ...more

I picked this up mainly due to the buzz surrounding this author. So this is my time reading any of her works. This one is more a nod to horror novels, true crime and women. And though I am not a horror fan, I was able to appreciate the other aspects especially the commentary on women and crime.

To start off, the cover totally took me in! It is my favorite cover of anything I've read in 2020! I listened to the audio version and while the narrators were excellent, I wonder if I would have enjoyed the book more if I'd read it instead. It did have some mystery and suspense, but not as much as I would have liked and I figured out most of it fairly early in the story. The characters were good and the writing was good, but not 5 star good. I'm not a believer in ghosts or the paranormal, so ma ...more

It was not easy to get into this book; however, once I finally did I was compelled to finish it. Lots of interesting turns at the end of the book.
