I don't think I have ever heard of The Osage Murders, if I have it was very quickly and something that obviously didn't stick with me. I knew of course there was oil in Texas and Oklahoma, but never about the Osage area and the wealth that came from it. Working in the legal field I of course know of mineral rights and it is very hard to buy land with those rights, owners/families tend to keep those close.

This was very well researched, but an emotionally difficult read as you can imagine. I do not want to see the movie. I don't need all the details put before me on a huge screen! :(

The important subject matter of this book is my reason is the reason for giving this such a high star rating. I feel it is told like reading a school book. To avoid spoiling anything. I felt like we all know who is guilty now we just need to find out how they were able to prove the person is guilty. It seemed to be lucky they were able to get someone testify. It's a sad event. This was very interesesting.
I did not expect to "enjoy" this book. So thoroughly well researched this provides the sad history of the Osage Indians and what they endured with the finding of oil on their lands. I could not put this down.
This is a story of raw greed, love, honor and strength.
