I will not go into a lengthy review because this is a case where I am not the right audience for this book. Basically, it is a young adult fantasy with many of the standard tropes we have come to expect – a feisty female protagonist, a relationship that gradually develops between former rivals, and lots of action sequences (which are extremely violent). I've had this book for quite a while now and finally got round to reading it! Unfortunately, I just didn't love it. I don't know why, but it wasn't clicking for me. I did enjoy certain character relationships, but there wasn't enough character development for me. Even though it's 352 pages, it felt like such a short book and maybe it was because most of the book is fighting scenes and there wasn't enough development for me, as I said before.
