What Members Thought

An amazingly deep read. Qouting Monique Grant 'I once read that charisma is “charm that inspires devotion" '. This really sums up how I felt while reading this story. I had originally expected a torrid account of Evelyn Hugo's exploits with her husbands in the early Hollywood Era. I was pleasantly surprised to find a story with more depth and that really explores the meaning of unconditional love.

I highly recommend this book. It was just terrific. Evelyn Hugo was such a complex character and it was such a great read to find out the details of her life. She is telling her story to a reporter, Monique. Evelyn can be tough, egotistical, stubborn, and even cruel, but she is aware of her flaws and thru it all learns about deep friendship and love.
