Camino is a seventeen-year-old girl living in the Dominican Republic with her aunt. Yahaira is a seventeen-year-old girl living in New York City with her mother. Their lives are initially separate but become tied together by a family secret and a tragedy. It is based on the (real) crash of American Airlines Flight 587.
