Well, what can I say about this one? Reviews, opinions, etc. are subjective, but I rarely give 1* to a book, so if other readers liked this one, no problem! This is only my opinion on this one. Aside from that, I like LGBT - romance, so that's not the problem.
The first problem is the Dutch translation: translations are alwasys a bit tricky, but there were many mistakes, spelling mistakes, sentences that made no sense...So, that's a bit of a bumper.

One of the best books I’ve read. I adored the premise, the story, the characters and the audio narration. Well except for the evil people of course. It was heavy with emotion at many points. It was beautifully written and the sensuality was outstanding. I smelt the scents and felt the air, the textures as well as experiencing deep experiences. Really a beautiful achievement.

After recovering from a mysterious illness, the last thing Emmett Farmer expects is for his parents to send him away on an apprenticeship. To a book binder of all people! Every since Emmett bought a book at a fair at a young age and was chastised by his parents, books have been banned in the Farmer house, and Emmett knows no-one else who has actually read a book. What is so dangerous about books?

This book took me by surprise. I wasn’t anticipating the turn of events that developed half way through the story that focused on the two major characters, Emmet and Lucian. It’s a love story.
Binding is about erasing memories as a way to either willingly forget a painful memory or be used against someone to continue a cycle of abuse. People’s memories are “binded” into books, and then kept by the binder. To sell a binded book of a person who is still alive is considered illegal.

This book was not what I envisioned. It started of slow and at times it was confusing. When I finally got it the book was almost finished, that is after I listened to it for the third time. Maybe this book is better if it is read. I like the story it was trying to tell, I just wish that it was told in a better way.
