Well, what can I say about this one? Reviews, opinions, etc. are subjective, but I rarely give 1* to a book, so if other readers liked this one, no problem! This is only my opinion on this one. Aside from that, I like LGBT - romance, so that's not the problem.
The first problem is the Dutch translation: translations are alwasys a bit tricky, but there were many mistakes, spelling mistakes, sentences that made no sense...So, that's a bit of a bumper.

After recovering from a mysterious illness, the last thing Emmett Farmer expects is for his parents to send him away on an apprenticeship. To a book binder of all people! Every since Emmett bought a book at a fair at a young age and was chastised by his parents, books have been banned in the Farmer house, and Emmett knows no-one else who has actually read a book. This book took me by surprise. I wasn’t anticipating the turn of events that developed half way through the story that focused on the two major characters, Emmet and Lucian. It’s a love story.
Binding is about erasing memories as a way to either willingly forget a painful memory or be used against someone to continue a cycle of abuse. People’s memories are “binded” into books, and then kept by the binder. To sell a binded book of a person who is still alive is considered illegal.
