I don't know quite what I think about this book. In places it was 5 stars and in others 4 stars but never less so I am giving it 4.5 stars rounded up to 5. The writing was solid through the book but some things were just a little bit too difficult to believe. Nobody was who they seemed to be at the beginning of the book. I wasn't wowed by the ending like with the others but it was well executed. It was more complex than the others. There was a lot going on jumping between characters but I also had several favorites.
The subtracted star is mostly due to the dialogue. Maybe it was intentional but some of the "voices" (conversations) were just bad. I'd say the duo redeemed themselves from the readers they lost with the first two books. ...more
