Science fiction is totally out of my wheel house. I can’t recall ever reading a science fiction selection. Having made that clear, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the writing and the way Weir presented the back story.
I would rate this book a 4.5 if I could give a half star. The only negative about Hail Mary for me was the science aspect, too many numbers and calculations.

You just can't go wrong with Andy Weir! I love the sarcasm and his choice of alien really tested my cringe-reflex. I couldn't put this book down, the pace was so fast and the whitism was addicting. This was a great read and I'm looking forward to his next book. (I'm still smirking with amusement just remembering my reading experience!) ...more
