I'm in the minority when it comes to The Passengers by John Marrs. It never quite worked for me. I like the concept of it but never became as invested in the characters as would have preferred. Also it dragged on too much for me as well. I wouldn't have minded if it were shorter and more tightly put together in certain elements. In the end, I think I would actually prefer to see this story adapted into a movie. By the way, this further solidified my never buying a self driving car thing. ...more

When you want to read a real thriller that you can't put down easily, John Marrs is a good author to go to!
This book of his was no exception. Based on the concept of there being completely driverless automobiles which need no manual intervention at all, this one is an exciting ride from start to finish!
Eight passengers in driverless cars have had their vehicles hacked and face imminent death at the hands of someone known only as the Hacker.

Amazing book, amazing.

I didn't think I'd ever find myself raving about a book rooted in sci-fi, a genre I generally avoid, but he's done it again. After the incredible The One, this follow up touches on the issue of AI and how it can be used against us.
