"It's the trying that heals you. All you have to do. Just try."

I was disappointed at first, when I was reading this. I was looking for depth and emotion and to be on pins and needles as Margaret struggled with her new world and reality. But then I just tucked away the push for this to be more dramatic and for it to be a lighter beach read.

This was a good story. I have wanted to read one of this authors books for a long time. I don't know why it took me this long to pick one up. I have The Things You Save in a Fire and have heard great things about it. I really enjoyed this book. I gave it 3 stars because there were some areas that seemed to go on a little to long. Some of the recovery could have been shortened a little. Some of the story with Chip was unnecessary too.

Chip and Margaret were sweethearts and Chip planned an amazing This was a good story. I have wanted to read one of this authors books for a long time. I gave it 3 stars because there were some areas that seemed to go on a little to long. Some of the recovery could have been shortened a little. Some of the story with Chip was unnecessary too.

Chip and Margaret were sweethearts and Chip planned an amazing date to purpose to Margaret. Chip had gotten his piolet license and was taking Margaret up in his plane. In the sand there were rocks formed to say "MARRY ME" it was sweet and romantic and they had this perfect life ahead of them. There was a storm coming in and Chip needed to land. His fuel was running low and landing in bad weather was making it hard to land. Something went wrong and he crashed his plane. Jet fuel splashed inside the plane and he couldn't get Margaret out.

Ian is Margaret's PT and he isn't all that easy to get along with. He isn't the nicest person to help get Margaret back on her feet or at least get her to be able to live successfully with her handicap. Ian might be tough on the outside but secretly he is a good guy. He starts calling her Maggie and she tries to get him to stop that, which he never does. At the end we find out she wanted to have a cute nickname by someone who loves her or plans on being in her life. It was near the end of the story and I'm going to reread that part just to be clear on exactly how he started calling her Maggie. It wasn't to make her mad it was a term of endearment. There was also a bonus story at the end and that little snippet was AMAZING. It was the firefighter that got to the wreckage and helped Margaret. That back story was EVERYTHING. At least to me it was

I would HIGHLY recommend this book to everyone too. Perfect summertime read. Actually it's an anytime read ;)

I changed my rating to 4 stars. I finished this book 5 hours ago and I'm thinking of other parts of this book that really touched me. It deserves 4 stars for sure ...more

This is a wonderful book! I enjoyed the realistic story line, which described how it felt to lose the ability to walk, without being morbid or depressing.
