Vera Wong's Unsolicited Advice for Murderers by Jesse Q. Sutanto is a charming murder mystery. Vera Wong Zhuzhu runs Vera Wang's World famous Teahouse and her routine is disturbed when she comes across a dead body in her shop one morning and decides to investigate what she is convinced is a murder. I loved this book. Vera is very forthright and determined and she tends to grow on you throughout the book. I suppose there were a few flaws in this book with characters being a bit one-sided, but I am choosing to focus on this: I listened to the audio version of this book when I had some stressful things going on in real life. This book brought me joy. There was something so great about the narration. I feel like there were lines I would probably have rolled my eyes at if I'd been reading it, but this narrator voiced Vera and friends so perfectly. It just worked. So I'm rounding up to 5 stars.
