This was soo good! Sarah idk how you manage to get better with every story I read of yours but this was everything I didn’t know I needed. Love it!
How can a 800 pages book feel too short? I am so glad the sequel is in my hands, as - even if the book doesn’t end with a massive cliffhanger, but with an opening for the next book - I just feel like I need more.

Holy shit a holy shit holy shit. I don’t have enough words to fully describe the story of this book and how I’m clawing to get my hands on more this world. This authors if you don’t read this what the hell are you doing with your life right now.
Maas, decent as expected but I do not think this book needed to be this LONGGGGG. Some filler as expected and clues that led to absolutely nowhere. Those first chapters hurt the soul. Felt like I knew those characters from the start and they had dimension. High dark fantasy, thought the world building was complex but done very well.

April 2022: Most of it I loved, parts of it I didn’t like. Overall, it was a great novel. Made me laugh and made me cry. Sarah’s dialogue is always top notch. I especially loved the Jelly Jubilee sections. Hilarious 😂
June 2024: WOW, WOW, just WOW. It was even better the second time. I love this story so much. The writing is so well done and I still love the JJ convos. The way all of the pack animals ran to help protect the human children and babies had me bawling 😭
