Dune, a science fiction book, was a solid 5 star read.
Though Dune isn’t the type of book I normally read-I honestly really enjoyed it.
Dune is set in the future, where melange (a spice) is one of the most valuable substances in the universe. The book centers around main character Paul Atreides and his family, who accepts control over the planet Arrakis-a desert planet and where the only source of melange is found. 3.5 stars. It's a long and sometimes tediously written book, but the story is interesting. I enjoyed the character development and the attention to detail in the world composition. I will be continuing the series. And to be fair...the rating would probably go up on a reread...the difficulty of this one was based primarily in trying to wrap my head around which of the many characters was which.
