3 stars. I’m so far removed from this series. I bought this book when it came out in 2017 and have had no interest in picking it up. I only read this because of the release of A Court of Silver Flames because I think Nesta is the most fascinating character in this series so I’m really excited for her story. I feel like I’m going to enjoy her as the heroine far more than Feyre because I really can’t stand Feyre and she never did grow on me throughout these books. This one took a while to get through, but not because I found myself putting it down out of sheer boredom, but rather "the real world" called too much. Overall, I feel as if it was a fitting end to the war, but it left enough open to continue further with Vassa and the creature under the library. Not to mention Cassian and Nesta as well as who Elain would choose. The only complaint I have is the number of characters that were introduced. I don’t think I’ve held my breath so long while reading a book before.
I don’t want to include any spoilers but there was one part in particular that my heart literally felt like it was about to be shatter to pieces - if you know, you KNOW.
This third installment is heavy with battle scenes and you need to pay attention, but also so rewarding when you come out the other side.
Can I say again how much I love love love this series??✨🗻❤️
