America was just too much for me. Her constant back and forth feelings between Maxon and Aspen was driving me a bit insane and was getting a bit bored as well. I understand a love triangle can happen but make sure it's love and not the feel of not sure if it's fascination or obidiance for the need to do better for your family. Technically 3.5 Stars
I do enjoy this series on many levels. The whole caste system, the bachelor style competition, the underdog. And my favorite thing is that Ms Cass was very good about writing in reminders about how we got to this point. I didn't feel like I needed to go back and re-read book 1 in order to follow the story.

My main complaint is that this book feels like a "filler" , like a spot between book 1 and book 3. America makes me crazy with her indecision about picking between Prince ...more

OMG, OMG, OH MY GOD!
I have a confession to make...
...I love this book! I read it in three days. I hadn't read The Selection until I was approved for The Elite on NetGalley, but I am damn glad I did! The Elite is even better than The Selection, not to mention America is growing in character! I especially love the scene with Marlee's punishment, and how the queen and America's father reacts afterwards. "I'm glad you did."
