I've finally given every one of Emily Henry's contemporary romance books a chance, and have decided that she is not an author for me. This book was a one on a steamy scale out of ten. There was about 25 pages in this book that I actually enjoyed, which is why I'm giving this such a high rating. But overall, I just found the story and writing lacked. For me this book is better than Beach Read from the same author. I did not like this one in the beginning, but it grew on me. Poppy and Alex are best friends from college and have spent numerous vacations together. The story is told by Poppy both in present and going back to vacations before. I did not like Poppy much, we have nothing in common, but Alex was a sweetheart. The story is very wordy and could have been shorter. Absolutely loved everything about this book! I laughed so much and loved the characters. I am so sad its over.
Poppy Wright and Alex Nilsen are opposites and best friends. They meet in college and a road trip home leads to yearly summer vacations together. The book flips from current day to going over all their previous trips, touching on one to Croatia two years previous where something happened. I listened to the audio book and I kept getting confused on what time frame the book was talking about.
