"Time to panic?"

There are books that just hit at the perfect time and place. THAT is this book. Perfectly adorable - I was cracking up laughing through all of it. Poppy is funny, sarcastic and flighty. Alex is witty, stable and sweet. I loved getting a peak through flashbacks of their previous vacations and their first meeting. You don't love either of them to start. But slowly their storys unfold and suddenly you can't imagine a world without them. Their experiences, their humor and their wild ...more

A pleasant, light read, if a bit repetitive at times. Twelve years it took them to resolve the issue of who loved whom. Each year's Summer Trip was a repeat of the year before where very little happened, & the bouncing between trips became tedious. I enjoyed the verbal interaction between Poppy & Alex, it seemed quite realistic as between good friends, however, I'm not sure that Poppy acted as a very good friend given that she should have known all about Alex's family background. Poppy Wright & Alex Nilsen

It's always easy to drift into a story that Emily Henry creates, and this was no different for me.

Overall, though, this one read more chick-lit, than romance, since Poppy & Alex spent much of the book in relationship(s) with other people.

That isn't a bad thing, because I enjoyed getting to experience their friendship from beginning to where it ended up going.

Man, did I love this book.

I loved how the story was told with successive flashbacks of Poppy and Alex's previous summer vacations as the current summer vacation was taking place. I loved Poppy and Alex separately and apart. I loved how Poppy and Alex's friendship changes over the years. I loved their families. I loved all the travel.

This was really sweet and surprisingly SUPER FUNNY. I laughed out loud like 8 times. This isn’t my typical genre because, well, romance. I like when things get to the truth of something even if that truth is ugly, but this isn’t that. This is lovely and warm and cute, and definitely ALMOST goes to some place kind of realistic.
