Such a great retelling (fictional) of the Jack the Ripper’ story.
The characters and the dialogues were perfect. I especially loved Thomas and his mind. Also the banter was excellent!
SPOILERS: in the author’s note KM says she didn’t want to add more characters that were involved in the real story not to confuse the reader. I am glad I listened to this part because as soon as Audrey-Rose started suspecting her father (and there was 1/4 of the book left) I knew it couldn’t be him. I suspected Thoma ...more

This book was an enthralling take of the classic “Jack the Ripper” historical mystery. Audrey Rose Wadsworth is a young girl in love with forensics. She secretly studies dead bodies with her uncle, despite how unfitting that is for a girl, especially for a girl of her status. There is some romance, but in my opinion it does not overrule the main plot, which is Audrey Rose trying to uncover the mystery of who Jack the Ripper really is.

2.5 it was okay, I felt like it was predictable. And I wasn’t in love with the characters. The language / writing style made it hard to read. I wish there was a little more romance. Some parts I did tab, because I liked them. But overall I found it hard to visualize. I also felt like I was forcing myself to like it or enjoy it more than I really did. The ending was probably the best.
