In the first 60 pages of this book I swore up, down, left and right that Nicholas Rose was the reason women say they hate men and that men ain’t shit. BOYYYYYYYY DID I LOOK DUMB AF. 40 pages later you see a side of Nicholas that absolutely melts your heart and you get pissed AF with Naomi! This book is absolutely hilarious. It was exactly what I needed to read to bring me in a good mood. Good mood + 13 other emotions. It was like riding a rollercoaster.

I don't know if this gets categorized as second chance or engaged to enemies to....but over all it was a very fun read.
For the first part of the book, I was eyerolling and not connecting with immature, Insta-focused Naomi and Nicholas, her clueless Mama's boy fiance. Naomi's big idea to get Nicholas to dump her so his mother won't leave her with the wedding bills seems ridiculous. She starts a War of the Roses type campaign instead of dealing with the problems in the actual relationship.

I don't know why, but I expected this to be...better. It's not bad, per se, but it's not as riveting as I'd hoped. The main character did rub me the wrong way sometimes, her reactions so unnecessary and grating at times. I did like the bantering and prank wars, which was the only saving grace for the book. A few scenes were entertaining and I did chuckle at how silly they were, which is why I bumped up the rating from 2 to 3.

Oh my goodness, this book was such a gift! The story itself was a refreshing angle on a romance novel - two engaged people who’ve fallen out of love, and then find each other again. But the real glory of this book was in the shenanigans of Naomi and. I goals as they tried to torture each other into calling it quits! And the mother-in-law scenes?! I outright cackled through those! Hilarious!!!

Sarah Hogle's sense of humour is not for everybody, but I personally laughed countless times and absolutely loved this book.
