Yep, 5 stars! I have nothing but good things to say about "Shatter Me" from the prose to the characters, from Juliette's silent introspective moments to that heart stopping action sequence! Tahereh was excellent in balancing these tender, bittersweet and truly tragic moments with the heartwarming and funny interactions of Kenji and James (who were the cherry on top). This book is so interesting. Dystopians are the best but this one has something about it that made me devour the whole thing in like 2 hours. Also, the cover is gorgeous! Can't wait for Unravel Me.

A tad over written with lots of drama and purple prose (omg the metaphors in every other line) and not quite enough world building for my taste. But I liked the characters and I want to read on. The Darkest Minds did this better IMO but this was still fun.

This book was awesome!! The setting, the characters, the action...just fabulous!!! Its written in first person present tense which I haven't run in to very often so it was a nice change. It felt like I was following along as everything was happening instead of just reading about it after. I can't wait to read #2 in the series.
