Absolutely amazing murder mystery with lots of high school drama and teen life shenanigans!!

How important it is for teens to be seen, to be heard, to be have and be a part of a big social circle.?? So important that it blurs the lines between the right and the wrong!

Okay so I usually never end up liking those overhyped books because they usually don’t deserve the hype and are stringing between mediocre and decent at max. But one of us is lying surprised me in a good way. Yes, it had a lot of cliche storylines and some situations but overall it did a great job at delivering a good plot that didn’t get stretched out to the point there’s nothing left from the initial storyline and pretty good characters that were interesting on their own.

Yes, it had a lot of cliche storylines and some situations but overall it did a great job at delivering a good plot that didn’t get stretched out to the point there’s nothing left from the initial storyline and pretty good characters that were interesting on their own.

Also I love multiple POV books, they just hit the spot, well at least when its done right and this book did it right.
I liked most of the main characters, I couldn’t connect much with cooper, like he was there but I didn’t really think of him until the second half of the book, I don’t have anything to say about the rest really.

Even though I kinda predicted the “plot twist” from the beginning the book did a great job at distracting me from it and making me think about endless other possibilities to what happened, I enjoyed the consistency with making me hate you-know-who the entire book (don wanna give spoilers), disliked him page one, disliked him page 300.

They got the terrible justice system thing 100% right because in most countries those “detectives” are basically useless, plenty of times they aren’t that bad but the justice system in general makes them useless because what they want overall is to catch a culprit, not catch THE culprit, so instead of evidence and then suspect its get the better looking suspect and find any evidence against them, because its takes less time, less effort and keeps the victims family “at peace” and out of their way.

What made me not give this book 5 stars is the epilogue, I though it was unnecessary and very random, like tell me they broke up but they are getting back together in 5 pages was not it. Just tell you couldn’t think of an ending and your deadline was approaching so you had to give it any scene to end it.

Overall the book did most things right, of course its a long way from being perfect but for being 350 pages? Its did what it had to do. I recommend it. ...more
