I have read Beach Read and People We Meet On Vacation by Emily Henry…neither of which I enjoyed. However, I literally couldn’t escape the Book Lovers videos on my For You page on TikTok so I decided to give it a try. And I was surprisingly impressed.

Book Lovers is full of archetypes: the bitchy working woman who is detached and has no heart. Except, she has a soft spot for her bubbly younger sister. It’s cliche, but I genuinely enjoyed Libby and Nora’s relationship, especially how they ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Book Lovers is full of archetypes: the bitchy working woman who is detached and has no heart. Except, she has a soft spot for her bubbly younger sister. It’s cliche, but I genuinely enjoyed Libby and Nora’s relationship, especially how they coped with losing their mom. Nora’s character development was so sweet as she realized that she doesn’t have to keep looking after Libby. I really loved Nora and I will defend her with my life.

Another cliche in this book was the “big city girls take on a small town!” It was called Sunshine Falls. Sunshine Falls. I was literally screaming at Nora to not stay there. I enjoyed to cute summer vibes though. It’s a perfect place for Libby though and I’m glad that she and her family got their happy ending.

I have seen so many romance books where the main couple are complete opposites of each other, but I enjoyed the dynamic between Charlie and Nora, how they’re so similar in their goals and ambition. I LOVED Charlie. He is actually my dream man. If my future husband isn’t a book editor, I don’t want him.

I really liked the storyline about Libby and her family. It actually kept me interested because I was wondering what was really going on. When it was all revealed I felt so much for both sisters, how Libby had to move on but Nora didn’t want to let her go. I also liked how it was normalized for Nora to not want children, but still love her nieces. The overall themes of family and loss were so well done and Henry did such a good job at exploring these in depth. I also feel like so many romances only focus on the main characters but Libby having her own story and struggles made it feel so much more rounded and fun to read.

Anyway, I’m glad I decided to give this one a go because even though it was predictable, I really enjoyed the characters more than I do in other romances and the plot lines were so interesting. ...more
