god this book made my adrenaline skyrocket (jesper tease) i was stressed in the best way possible. i absolutely LOVED this book. the povs i loved them all, the quotes OH MY GOD THE QUOTES CRIMINAL. and the plot was so good i fell in love with it and the characters. KANEJ GET THE STRETCHER I REPEAT GET THE STRETCHER. all in all i LOVED this book and i will be reading it again and you can believe that

This book was a whirlwind of motley themes with mercurial characters, ineffaceable clandestine trysts and fervid conundrums that have your heartbeat spiking up, with just a spangle of capricious treachery that only further invigorates the charm of the book.

I started out skeptically of this book, expecting it to be a humdrum facade wrapped in fame. But, to my ebullience, it was an enthralling experience that allowed me to delve dee “No mourners,”
“No funerals.”
Among them, it passed for “good luck.”

This book was a whirlwind of motley themes with mercurial characters, ineffaceable clandestine trysts and fervid conundrums that have your heartbeat spiking up, with just a spangle of capricious treachery that only further invigorates the charm of the book.

I started out skeptically of this book, expecting it to be a humdrum facade wrapped in fame. But, to my ebullience, it was an enthralling experience that allowed me to delve deeper within the the schematics of the macabre grishavese world. Every character struck a chord for me, inevitably becoming an integral part of me. Leigh's repertoire includes writing beguiling characters that mesmerize you and cater to your innate ideals of what well-written characters should be like. The sinuous plot had a harrid pace and an impossible feat for The Crows to accomplish, an ordeal that leaves you reeling from the crackling prose by the end. The romance only incenses the experience further, with the unflagging chemistry and startling angst.

Personally, I found all the characters to be undeniably appealing, with their sporadic personalities. If I were to enumerate my favourite, I'd say the most well-written character is most likely Kaz Brekker, with his stolid nature and dexterity. Next comes Nina Zenik, with her contagious humour and rapturous allure. The others also have these intrinsic details woven into their characters which make them special.
The best out of all the romances was Nina and Matthias's; the tangible tension and an inferno of emotions consumed me. As for now, they were also the only ones that embodied an ideal romance. They colored the other romances as comparatively dull and bland. I'm hoping the next books can make the other romances just as explosive.

Rounding up my review, I believe this enamouring book is a mouthful. Although lengthy, it is immersive enough to not be boring. Objectively speaking, the flaws in this book were trivial, and did not prove to be a nuance in the slightest. It took some time to pick up at the beginning, but moving onwards, it was a cacophony of some of the best tropes being elucidated.

i literally smiled for 500 pages straight, my whole week has been elevated, thank you thank you THANK YOU

Wow. After the Shadow and Bone trilogy, I walked into this with lower expectations, but these characters and the insane plot drew me in. Wow, the characters. This book is so perfect because I have never before read a fantasy heist novel, and wow do I love it. I cannot wait to read the second book, so I'm going to go start right now, because now that I'm inve ...more

“No Mourners. No Funerals.” This book was absolutely amazing! Inej and Nina were my favorites however all the characters were great. It’s 1am and I’m super tired lol so my review isn’t the best but I had the day off and was gonna take advantage of that to get this book finished. I absolutely cannot wait to read the sequel! I will say though I’m glad I read the Shadow and Bone trilogy first because I wouldn’t have understood a lot of this book. I know some people say you don’t have to read them t ...more
