Finally. Finished. This. Book!!!! I don’t mean “finally” as in “wow it was so hard to get through this book,” I mean finally as in “I didn’t have any free time to read.” I don’t think I can say a single negative thing about this book. It’s a masterpiece. The characters, the plot, the deep details, everything about it was just perfect. This is one of those books that will always be my first choice for anyone who asks me for a book recommendation. 100000/10. Thank you Leigh Bardugo!!!!

I will never be able to rate it less than five not even a point. It has become one of my favourite books. I don't have any words to describe my love for this book. 𝙄 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙞𝙩 𝙨𝙤 𝙢𝙪𝙘𝙝, 𝙄 𝙖𝙢 ⒼⒾⒹⒹⓎ!!!

Leigh Bardugo wrote a masterpiece. She really did a fascinating job. I think she is gonna be one of my favourite authors😁😁😁

so so good. i really enjoyed this book. it passed my high expectations. i attempted to read this book twice but couldn't do it because of the first chapter, it was so boring. i'm glad that first chapter had nothing to do with the book and that i eventually got past it. to be honest, i don't think i would have picked this book up if i hadn't watched shadow and bone (or fell in love with kaz and inej) but the influence and chokehold that show has on me is insane, it convinced me to face m ...more

Since GoodReads doesn't have half-star ratings (cos, otherwise, I would rate it 4.5), I decided to look past this book's flaws and gave it a full 5 star rating (mighty generous of me, I know).
Excellent story-telling, beautiful world, nail-biting suspense and topple-off-your-chair plot twists - this book has it all!

𝑺𝒊𝒙 𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒔 𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒄𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒔, 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒔𝒕 - can Kaz, the criminal prodigy, with his band of thieves, convicts, and miscreants, break into the impenetrable Ice Court? Or, will they find themselves locked up in the tightest prison in GrishaVerse?

To be brief, Six of Crows is Money Heist meets Game of Thrones — a book with the best of both worlds. Magic and menace, powers and politics, danger and deceit — Leigh has mixed all the right ingredients in just the right amounts to brew a perfect concoction of wit and imagination. Seasoned with spicy dialogue and shocking plot-twists, the story becomes a perfectly delicious read.

Six of Crows is a daring novel, unbound and unshackled by convention. While traditional fantasies depict a dark spasm in an otherwise utopic world, GrishaVerse makes no such promises. Instead, it rips apart the veil of illusion to reveal the depravity that exists even in fantasies. The story orbits slaves, orphans and prostitutes — survivors of oppression who fortified and built themselves with nothing but dust. They have no friends or family. “No mourners. No funerals.” — they chant as a charm of good luck.

Aside from that, what makes it truly a novel of the 21st Century is its diversity; readers will get to witness LGBT romances bloom on top of the hackneyed Romeo and Juliet trope.

Something I found disarming at first was that the novel begins with the assumption that readers will be well acquainted with the technical intricacies and terms indigenous to the GrishaVerse (a universe that Leigh has introduced in her previous works). So, if you’re new to this terrain, like I was, you are going to find yourself before a giant mass of unseen vocabulary, but that is nothing a quick googling can’t fix.

I've read this book couple months ago and it's itching me to write a review because this is literally my favourite book. I used to think that I can only enjoy a book if it's romance and though this book do contain an amount of romance it gave me more than I could've wanted in a book.
I'm talking about suspension lots of suspension, an amazing plot and really heart felt back stories etc..
I wish I knew how Leigh Bargudo does it, I started and was confused with the writing and all these knew charact ...more

Shelves: favorites, read-2022

Although it took a while to finish, I love every bit of this book. Each and every character of the crew, I fell in love with. I was throughly engrossed in the plot and its characters. Leigh Bardugo’s writing has definitely improved from the Grisha trilogy. Even the Grisha were more captivating in this book. And leading up to that last chapter, I was almost at the end of my seat. It truly showcased what I love about Kaz. I’m brimming to start the next book to see what happens next. Definitely one ...more
