Upon re-read I found that nothing significant really happens in this book except the last few chapters.
I can also see now why Cardan acts the way he does which I did not get in my first read.
I know this book has its flaws but I still love it for what it is-awesome characters, amazing worldbuilding, all the politics and the wonderful ending.

Okay, this started off kind of slow, and I didn't particularly enjoy the whole bullying part. I do admit that it was probably necessary to create 'the cruel prince' part of the book. After she became a spy, though, the story was more fast paced, and I really really liked it. I love how the main character actually wants power; I mean, usually, they're strong but not too strong, they end up in powerful places but not because they actually wanted power, and so on.
