My son and I listened to the audiobook version of this gripping, haunted story set deep in the woods where foxes live, hunt and fight for survival on our commute home as the days darkened here in Northwestern Europe and the branches shook off their leaves. For me it was a bit too long and it took me a while to get the gist of what was going on. It's a story within a story. Some little foxes are gathered around a storyteller who tells the tales of survival of Uly and Mia and some of their family members.

There are scary parts but nothing particularly terrifying. I thought it was going to go in my "short stories" section, but this is actually a novel. I thought it would go in my "horror" section but I'm wondering about putting it into fantasy (talki

This is such a creative story! A group of young foxes sneaks out one night to hear a scary story. The voice is what I liked—the storytelling from the foxes point of view.
