This is a chunky one ... but not as epic as advertised.
As the author himself has posted here, this had a lot of elements that I have seen before - e.g. Interview with the Vampire and Blade - which makes it a bit difficult for me to label this a wholly original. That being said, I did enjoy it but I think it could have been shorter.

I’m not 100% sure if this is a 3.5* or 4, but it rounds to the same…I loved the story but a lot of the stuff surrounding the main story was problematic for me, including treatment of women, handling of a thinly veiled depiction of Christianity, general equality of race, gender and sexual preference…I will read the sequel but I’m not sure I’m going to put it at the top of my “counting down the days till publication” list.
