The science fiction adventure novel combines thoughts on life's purpose and society's structure with snarky British humour. Adams' inventive world-building and ability to imbue even the most absurd situations with wit and intelligence was a favourite experience, learning how it was initially adapted from a radio series to the books and later the movie.

I'd say closer to 4.5 stars. Although a bit confusing, this book was still a hit. It was funny, and some things were just so random and brilliant. I just want to taste more of that. Can't wait to read book two! ...more
