This story takes place over the course of twenty-four hours, and includes flashbacks that further explain the characters and story. Malibu Rising follows four famous siblings: Nina, Jay, Hud, and Kit. Readers of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo will recognize their father, Mick Riva, though he doesn’t make much of an appearance in the book. During these twenty-four hours, the siblings are dealing with their own personal issues, while preparing for and hosting a big party at Nina’s house.

three books in and I've realized that Taylor Jenkins Reid is one of my all-time favs :)

I loved this book -- I went in expecting some sort of suspenseful mystery (don't ask me why I guess I didn't read the summary thoroughly enough) and it totally surpassed my expectations. the author has this remarkable talent for taking characters that are often viewed as obscenely privileged and one-dimensional and stripping them down in order to show that the grass isn't always greener on the other side. in a ...more

I loved this book a lot, it was so interesting seeing their lives as a child and then their lives during the party. This book is interesting too to see like how money and fame effects a person.. What’s sad too is how even though we don’t hear about it often it really does happen in real life. Anyway loved this book! Taylor jenkins reid did amazing once again!
