I sooo wanted to rate this book 5 stars but I just didn't like it that much like y'all do.

I had a hard time remembering names, places etc. even though I already read 2 books from Grishaverse. I expected so much more from this book because of all the hype surrounding it.

What can I even say to review this awesome book? You know how you see books that are so hyped up and you kinda feel like it's going to fail your expectations and so you're kinda hesitant about it?

This book did not.

I'm keeping my old review because I still stand by everything I said. I might even have loved it more the second time around. And if you compare this to her first book, Shadow and Bone, you can see how much she improves in her writing and characters.
All of these characters just had so much more depth to them. Definitely Kaz was more my type of bad boy than toxic, overpowered Darkling.
And it did help that I read the trilogy, a lot of name dropping happens here that ...more

I didn't think I could love a universe so much. I absolutely adore Kaz but Jesper has my heart - and I hope he and Wylan end up together.
Nina is the reason I change my mind, and now if anyone asks me, I wouldn't want to be a sun summoner but a heartrender.
But Inej is the one that became my new favourite strong female character. She is strong and I admire her. ...more

Six of Crows was great. I have read the Shadow and Bone series and loved that as well. But this one was so much better! I loved all of the characters, at first I thought it might be too much with so many people going back and forth but it worked I felt invested in all of them. Of course I was most invested in Kaz and Inej. I can't wait to find out more of their story. But the others were great as well. I loved Nina and Helvar's relationship.
