It’s understandable why Benjamin Saenz received recognition for his sensitive portrayal of two young men struggling with their friendship and personal identity. Dante and Aristotle Discover the Secrets of the Universe is a complicated story which unfolds with surprisingly simplistic dialogue. Its plot twists are unexpected, yet somehow Saenz gently prepares readers for the ending. A book that focuses on the paradox of keeping secrets and revealing them.

Shelves: favorites, lgbt, to-love-or-not-to-love, reread-at-least-once

I cried.

I can't count how many times I cried reading this book, but I did it from the start to the end. For various reasons too.

I motsly cried because it hit so close to home. When an author puts on paper everything you are feeling, it's a wonderful thing. Scary but wonderful, alarming but reassuring too.

It's the best book I've read this month, this year, this life.

This was a wonderful coming of age story that was true to life, I believe. Some of the content-not very much-will make me choose who to recommend this to in our JH/HS, but otherwise a very well written story.
