So I've read Amber Smith's debut novel, The Way I Used to Be, before. I even wrote my own review on how similar the main character's experiences were to mine. This one isn't as relatable for me, but is still excellent and--I'd argue--Amber Smith's writing has matured and improved since. Personally, I did really like the first book, but mostly because of content and the issues spoken about, not so much the writing style. This one, I feel, features a much better writing style.
