Definitely a scarier read for having read it in this time and probably more frightening for what the author leaves for me to imagine in a post-apocalyptic world. I give it 4 stars for now but have a feeling that I will be puzzling over some of its ideas in the coming days and weeks; I may have to come back to this rating and review.

I’m upgrading this to 5 stars. Having re-read it, and read it more closely for the second time, I’m even more fond of the characters and ideas and wonder and gratitud

I picked up this book with only a vague idea of what it was about and the notion that I’d wanted to read it at one time. Well, no better time than while self isolating due to the covid-19 pandemic I told myself. It wasn’t until 17 pages in that I realized this book is about a pandemic flu that has reached Toronto and is rapidly spreading worldwide 😳
