Anyways, I loved that we finally got our Wylan POV chapters! He's adorable and feisty. And the moment Jesper kissed Kuwei instead of Wylan broke my heart (pro tip for Hamilton fans reading this review: listen to Burn at that specific part). And when Jesper and Wylan had their REAL first kiss, I screamed I read this last fall and when I tell you it ripped my heart out, stomped on it, and glued it back in, it really did. * MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD DO NOT CONTINUE IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO READ THIS BOOK*

And when Jesper and Wylan had their REAL first kiss, I screamed into my pillow so hard.

Next let's talk about the Kanej bathroom scene. My heart was racing during this scene. I have no idea how Kaz overcame his PTSD to help Inej. I have never shipped any two fictional characters so hard in my life until now. And don't even get me started on "I would have come for you. And if I couldn't walk, I'd crawl to you, and no matter how broken we were, we'd fight our way out together-knives drawn, pistols blazing. Because that's what we do. We never stop fighting." IF THAT AIN'T THE MOST ROMANTIC THING EVER, I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS!

Now it's time to talk about the dreaded part we all know is coming. So here are my thoughts on Matthias Helvar's death:

I had accidentally read a Crooked Kingdom spoiler while reading CK and found out about his death that way. I was devastated. So when it finally came down to that part, I was not mentally prepared. AND THE FACT THAT MATTHIAS WANTED TO SEE NINA'S FACE RIGHT BEFORE HE DIED SHATTERED ME😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭. And the audacity that Leigh Bardugo had to start Matthias' first chapter in SoC and last chapter in CK with "Matthias was dreaming again. Dreaming of her." killed me from the inside out. LIKE WHYYYY DID YOU DO THIS 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 And when Nina started crying, I started bawling. It broke my heart. Oh and just so you all know, we WILL have to witness this part in the TV show so grab your tissues

So this book may have given me ✨️emotional damage✨️ but it was still perfect in every single way. ...more

What a wild ride ! This book was so much fun, full of adventure and stressful situations without forgetting the romance and angst, also sadness ... Nonetheless this book wasn't a 5 ⭐️ for me I just wanted more and Leigh Bardugo writing always put me in a slump, I love her stories, world building and ideas but the 3rd person is not for me. ...more

i need to be honest, the first book i belive is better than this one, but this second book make u feels like WHAAAT!! HOWW!? WHENN?!!

this is my first time reading about the grishaverse, and i kind a like it, but steel not sure about it.
