I think is a solid book, a good book, even. BUT I didn't enjoy it as much as the hype said I would. Warning, there may be unmarked spoilers that I am too lazy to find, so be warned if you haven't read this book yet.

The best part of this book was the ~sexual tension~ between Cardan and Jude. I ship them ~~completely~~ almost completely. They clearly have a relationship going for them (and after binging a bunch of fanfics of post TQoN, the most tooth rotting fluff ever), I actively ship Jurda ...more

OKAY So I've had some time to process and now I'm ready to talk.
Rating: 5/5
I expected to hate this book so when I realized that I fucking loved it I was very pleasantly surprised, especially after having a lackluster few reading months of 2021.
This book was nothing like what I thought it'd be. I thought I'd have a typical YA protagonist pining after a toxic abusive asshole and I would hate everything. But that is not what I got in the slightest.

Okay, i honestly don't know if i should rate this 4 or 5 stars (but yeah, 5 stars for now XD)

This book is a page-turner and i love how morally grey the characters are. I also have a moment that i'll stop reading and just stare at the wall for a second, just to process what happened lol.

I was so excited to read this, i had a very high expectations for this and it exceeded my expectations!! this was Amazing. i'm quoting Leigh bardugo when I say this , its a lush, dangerous, dark jewel of a book.

I didn't think I enjoyed it as much as everyone else. It was a fine read, and I'd like to continue with the next one, but I'm not begging for it because I haven't yet developed a strong bond with the characters. I also didn't agree with so many of the main character's decisions, but that's what made it entertaining and a little edgy.

This is my current favourite book of all time. It preoccupies the reader with its magic. It's really thrilling to read about the fae, Elfhame and all its wonders which captivates all kinds of readers. You dont have to like Fantasy to read this book. If you haven't read it yet.. blah blah blah, proper name, place name, backstory stuff... basically sums me up any time cardan spoke.

This book is great in so many ways. the very beginning which captures the reader, the world-building and beautiful descriptions ~~(especially the descriptions of all the men 🫣)~~, the surprises, drama, all of it (relatively).
